Les Passetries

Loire Valley

LES PASSETRIES nestles within a small hamlet on the outskirts of VERNOIL-LE-FOURRIER; this charming village offers all
the amenities expected of rural France: the traditional boulangerie selling delicious, fresh bread · supermarket
post office · several bars.

The town of VERNANTES, offering further amenities and a weekly market,
is 2.2km along from Vernoil-le-Fourrier.

A 20-minute drive away, the elegant town of SAUMUR sits on the river Loire. Amazing restaurants, exquisite boutiques, stunning architecture - many hours can be whiled away exploring quaint back streets and busy boulevards. Purchase exquisite foods from the charcuterie and fromagere, browse the antique shops and visit the wine cellars. Don’t miss the weekend market.

The tranquil LAC DE RILLE is a 20-minute drive. Divided into two areas, this beautiful lake offers swimming and water activities from its sandy shores. Crossing the causeway leads into an unspoilt  nature reserve and wildlife haven. The lake offers excellent fishing - particularly carp, but also a wide variety of coarse fish. A small steam train runs around the outskirts of the lake.

CHINON is situated 32km along the river from Saumur. Another delightful town, said to have been visited by Richard the Lionheart, it retains many medieval features and is well worth visiting.
